Destination weddings in Jim Corbett
Lawns, banquet halls, and — the part that actually decides it — rooms enough to sleep your guest list.
That is the number most venues avoid discussing until the deposit is paid.
Why Corbett
Close enough that everyone actually comes
The hard part of a destination wedding is not the venue, it is attendance. A wedding that needs a flight thins the guest list quietly — leave, cost and connections do the deciding. Corbett is a drive from Delhi: grandparents come, colleagues come, and nobody needs a hotel the night before to catch a plane.
The second thing is that it does not look like a banquet hall. Forest, river, hills and a sky with stars in it, an hour past the point where the plains stop.
What we bring is the arithmetic — the room block, the buyout terms, the noise curfew and the vendor rules that decide whether the wedding you have imagined can happen at the property you have fallen for.
Rooms
The number that decides a Corbett wedding is not the lawn
Every venue will quote you a lawn capacity, because a lawn holds whatever you put on it. What actually constrains the wedding is how many of your guests can sleep on the property.
Corbett is a market of small properties, so that ceiling arrives sooner than people expect and it is the first thing we check rather than the last. We establish the block and the buyout terms in writing before you commit to a lawn.
What we establish before anything else
- Total rooms, and how many the property will release as a block
- Whether a full buyout is possible, and the minimum spend for one
- Lawn and banquet capacity, seated and standing
- Noise rules and the curfew — many properties stop music at a fixed hour
- Whether an outside caterer or decorator is permitted, or in-house only
- Coach and fleet access, and where the baraat actually arrives
Venues that can hold a function
All resorts →Properties with a banquet ground of their own. What one will release as a block, and whether a buyout is possible at all, moves with the season — so we get both in writing for your dates rather than print a capacity here.

When to come
The months, honestly
- Nov – FebThe winter wedding season, and genuinely full. The good room blocks go first — ask six to nine months out.
- Mar – AprWarm, dry and comfortable, and the best window of the year for an outdoor evening.
- May – JunHot by afternoon. Workable for an evening function, hard on a daytime one, and much easier to hold a whole property.
- Jul – OctMonsoon. The quietest months and the easiest on which to negotiate a buyout, but the function needs a covered plan rather than a hopeful one.
Reopening dates are set by the Forest Department each year and we do not print one until it is confirmed. Ask us and we check the portal for your dates rather than guess.
Before you book anywhere
Worth asking, whoever you book through
Ask us, or ask them. We would rather you booked the right thing somewhere else than the wrong thing with us.
How many rooms will they block for us?
The published room count and the released block are different numbers. Ask for the block in writing with the rate attached.
What time does the music stop?
Many Corbett properties sit near villages and stop amplified music at a fixed hour. Find that out before the sangeet is planned around a DJ.
In-house catering only?
Some properties will not allow an outside caterer or decorator at all, and others charge a royalty. It changes the budget significantly.
Where does the fleet park?
At least one property here parks well away from the building. For a wedding with cars arriving all evening that is a logistics problem, not a detail.
Questions
Asked often
- How far ahead should we book?
- Six to nine months for a November-to-February wedding. That season is genuinely full here and the workable room blocks go first.
- Can we buy out the whole property?
- At several, yes, and at a lower headcount than you would expect, because the room counts in this market are small. We will get you the minimum spend for each.
- Do you handle decor and catering?
- We coordinate; we do not pretend to be a wedding planner. If you have a planner we work alongside them, and if you do not we will say plainly that a wedding of any size needs one.
- What about pre-wedding shoots?
- Easier than the wedding in every way, and several properties will host a shoot on a weekday. Worth doing as a separate trip.
- Do you take payment on this site?
- No. We take no payment on this website. Weddings are invoiced to the company account against a signed scope — never to a personal account or a UPI number. Advance-to-a-personal-account fraud is common in this market and the amounts at stake here are large.
