How a Corbett safari permit works
A Corbett safari permit is issued for one zone, on one date, in the traveller’s own name. It can’t be transferred, not even to a family member. Each zone is separate, with its own gate and its own opening dates.
To book, we need the full name and government ID of every traveller (Aadhaar, passport, voter ID, driving licence or PAN), because the Uttarakhand Forest Department won’t issue a permit without them. We ask for these only once you’ve decided to book.
Permits are booked on the Forest Department’s official portal. We book them on your behalf as part of your package. We don’t show live availability. Instead we check the portal for your dates and tell you what’s open before you commit to anything.
Each zone’s opening and closing dates are set every year by the Forest Department, and several close for the monsoon. Permits open a fixed number of days before the travel date, and we tell you when yours opens.
Nobody can promise a tiger sighting, and anyone who does is selling you something.
